FAQ's

Q – How do I know that my home is safe when Safemaids visit?

A- All Safemaids will have undergone Home Office criminal records vetting prior to working for us in your home, and we are happy to evidence this to you if required. Additionally all of our operatives are fully insured to work within your home.

Q – When will Safemaids visit?

A – Our teams will work predominantly in the day time, whilst you are working hard at the office!

Once your regular Safemaid has been trained in your homes particular requirements they are happy to work unsupervised, and this will be organised by your original Safemaid representative. Not only does this mean you come home to a sparkling home after a long day at the office, but because our Safemaids are able to work without distraction, they are able to provide speedy and effective cleaning in your home, keeping your costs down!

Q – How long will I be tied in?

A – To make cleaning your home and the costs of employing a Safemaid on your behalf viable, all we ask is that you agree a two month contract, with the first month payable in advance.

Q – What if I want to make changes to my cleaning requirements?

A – That’s fine! We understand that sometimes circumstances change or you may wish us to concentrate on different areas and tasks in your home. Any changes can be discussed with your Safemaid representative on the number supplied in your contract pack.

Q – How will I know what my cleaner is supposed to be doing?

A – Having clearly defined requirements will make our contract with you run smoothly, and ensure you are delighted with your Safemaids work. When you first appoint Safemaid we will build a specification for your home based upon your specific needs, and a copy of this will be in your contract pack. Our Safemaid will be supplied this in the form of clearly colour coded job cards, and will be able to work through this methodically during every visit. The job cards will ensure that tasks not due to be completed at every visit are undertaken at the frequency agreed. -  Ie Wash down cupboard facades – monthly.

Q – What if I am not happy with some of the tasks my cleaner has completed or something is missed?

A – Let us know! We want to have a long lasting relationship with you and we need to know if there are any aspects of our service letting you down! Any issues will be discussed with the Safemaid in question and steps taken to remedy them immediately. Periodically we will call you to check you are happy with the service you are getting.

Q – How do I know the money I am paying is going towards a fair wage for my cleaner?

A – With over 10 years in the commercial cleaning sector we know how vital it is to recruit and retain staff of the right calibre. With this in mind we will pay as a standard the commercial wage rate for any given area to our team. If we were to pay too low, you do not get the calibre of staff you need to provide quality cleaning services, and we need to frequently re - advertise and recruit to clean your home. Our goal is to have a happy Safemaid, committed in the long term to us, and to you, and who knows your homes specific needs inside out!

Additionally we operate a performance related pay structure, similar to that often seen in the professional commercial cleaning sector and individual wage rates are reflective of:

·         Each of their weekly visits is completed to the agreed specification and against the performance levels expected

·         Each booked visit from their weekly portfolio has been completed as expected. Our intention is to drastically remove the issue of non attendances or poor standards.

Should standards fall demonstrably lower than those agreed, or a non attendance confirmed, the hourly rate for all hours delivered that week will drop to reflect this.

It is important to note that our aim is NOT to pay low wages which is both unethical and unsupportable for both our clients and our staff, but to encourage the best possible value for our staff and engender a level of reliability and consistency often lacking in the domestic sector. Like wise, geniune or one of absences or justifiable issues will not automatically effect an operatives rates.

At no time will any member of our staff be required to work below National Minimum Wage, and our aim is to pay the maximum hourly rate to our staff at all times.

Q – Who will supply the equipment and cleaning products?

A – We will supply these within our costs. Our products will be analysed and approved for use by our operatives, and they will be trained to use these products in your home. We will hold COSHH data sheets for all chemical products as part of our Health and Safety obligations.

Q – What if I don’t want strong chemicals in my home?

A – At Safemaids we do not use harsh chemicals such as bleach on any of our contracts unless expressly requested by our clients. All products are as environmentally neutral as possible, however we are happy to use our Environmentally friendly range as an alternative, just ask your Safe Maid representative at your initial meeting.

Q – How do I get a quote?

A – We are happy to provide you with a no obligation tailored quotation for your homes cleaning needs. Just contact us on enquiries@safemaid.com or call us on the local rate number 0845 467 4119 or your local representative on 07833 346 127, and we will arrange a convenient time to meet you at your home and establish your individual needs.
